This month's listings are from some local Estate Sales & Consignments, some items are almost antique, hard to find and we have even some nice NOS (New Old Stock) items that are over 50 years old and still in the package. Other items are just plain old antiques, all are fairly unique.

DESCRIPTION: This listing is for a VINTAGE 1950s-60s Paris Watercolor Print by Arno. She said she bought them on the streets near the Eiffel Tower. These two prints are framed in 8 1/2" x 15 1/2" white frames with a sort of antique wash look to them. We did look inside and confirmed NO HOLES and also found the original art deco inserts that came in these frames and are now "backing" for the Arno Prints. Some labels on the back of the frames look like 1950s.

I did a little research on the artist and seems like there is some confusion on who he was. Some attribute this to Arno Beijk who is Dutch. Unfortunately he is way too young to have been painting in Paris in the mid 19th century. Others think it may be Peter Arno works, but the family says no. The print is in the style of Marius Girard and of the same time frame - 1950s and 1960s. Love his style of painting. Anybody have any info about the artist? While the picture posted in the response was in a style similar to mine, the name brought up a modern artist. So there you have it, not sure what sets art value but for us, it is based on research and appeal. They have been together almost 70 years now and no reason for me to separate them. We have removed the back to check for the two holes and any other information. We heard that some of these watercolor works were dated on the back. We found nothing on the back but did confirm the size of these at 8" x 15". We also have a picture of the original backings as a "bonus" as you can revert the frames to original, put the Arno prints into something else. Please review all photos, ask questions if needed.
