The name "Moe-Bridges" is certainly not a household name, even among many vintage lighting collectors.

Most people who have merely a passing interest in the lighting devices of the early 20th century know of "Tiffany, " "Handel" and "Pairpoint, " but "Moe-Bridges" is somewhat less familiar. There is not much written about the history of the Moe-Bridges Co. They were issued a patent for a lamp base design created by George Ludwig on March 6, 1923. They specialized in making reverse-painted lamps, meaning the designs were painted on the inside of the lamp shade.

This was a very fashionable form of decorative lighting in the 1920s, but the Great Depression starting in 1929, made these lamps too costly for the general public. Designs on Moe-Bridges lamps frequently feature landscapes with forest or country scenes that typically include a water element. This amazing Moe Bridges Reverse Painted Table lamp features exceptional color and masterful painting. The interior of the shade has been painted with a beautiful landscape of a cottage homestead in the summertime by a lake, with beautiful majestic lakeside mountains bathed in a golden sunrise. The outside of the shade is has a fabulous texture that adds a wonderful soft glow to the painting when illuminated.

Shade is SIGNED on the rim "MOE BRIGDES CO". The lamp base is marked MOE-BRIDGES CO.
