Vintage Florida Landscape Painting Gulf Coast Impressionism Original Signed

Very charming, original, oil painting by Venice, Florida artist Clarice Shaffer. Probably painted in the late 1950s to early 1960s.

Clarice Shaffer is known for painting landscapes of the Gulf Coast area near Venice. The piece being offered for sale is a painting I found especially lovely and it really drew me in. You can say Im a road painting person. Im just charmed when artists have roads in their painting. This one is a sandy forked road that leads up to some homes.

Theres a little impasto in the brush strokes for the road which is a nice effect to the eye. The tone of colors used strikes me as fitting for the Gulf Coast. The signature in lower right hand is faint. But the remainder of a label on back says Shaffer... In addition I bought another Shaffer at the same time - style looks the same, subject matter.

Measurements: Portrait orientation 20 inches by 16 inches. Canvas surface stretched on wood. The painting is in average condition. There are areas of paint loss. Mostly the tree trunks, some grass, near the homes in background.
