Beautiful vintage oil painting for your collection. This painting features a nude woman in repose, hands casually clasped around her knee.

Looking outwards beyond the painter, her gaze is void of emotion. She's clearly been enjoying sunbathing in her two-piece bandeau swimsuit, so popular during the'40's, the outline of her tan demonstrating this. The painter understands light and shadows and the multi colors contained within, and his brush strokes are confident.

It is signed on the back in ink: Cy Aston Helsinger. 1949 and is in very good condition with a few frayed edges from being unframed for a long period of time (possibly since 1949) and is painted on canvasboard (the manufacture label is shown in the last photo). Based on the canvasboard and the name of the artist, it is possibly a German painting, though no information about the artist is known.
