Vintage Portrait Charcoal Drawing Gentleman Man Male Mid Century Modern
This is a vintage portrait of a handsome young gentleman. Sight measures 9 1/2" x 7 1/2". The painting is matted and displayed in a fancy gilt wood and gesso frame measuring 15 3/4" x 12 1/2".
The painting is signed and dated: Carl, NY, 1945. On the back is a note written by the sitter who was almost 20 years old.
The drawing appears to be in very good condition. The frame has some chipping to the gesso and there are several small paper fragments under the glass. One is over the gentleman's head and there are 3 in the area of the white mat. This is one of about a dozen paintings I will be adding to my shop during January 2021. The paintings were acquired from a gentleman who was moving out of state.He had created a gallery of male portraits that covered an entire wall in his stylish Hartford, CT, home.
