Attributed to the Listed American Artist (1859 - 1948). We recently attended a fine art sale in Chadd's Ford, Pennsylvania where we found a few real gems, this being one of them! Signed along the lower right corner William P. Silva and attributed to the listed American William Posey Silva (1859 - 1948), the artist gives us a naive view of a farm pasture in between two trees with a small mountain along the background. The two trees that border the canvas along both sides are so dark, they almost appear to be shadows to the bright and colorful landscape that falls behind them. An original oil on board displayed in a wooden frame, the artwork measures approx. 22-3/8" by 28-1/2" with a sight size of 23-5/8" by 17-1/2". We found a few light scratches to the board with visible varnish, and display wear to the frame.
