BEAUTIFUL GEORGIAN HAND PAINTED SIGNED PORTRAIT MINIATURE BROOCH. This is a stunning Georgian Hand Painted Portrait Miniature of a young lady, it is signed MC though i dont know who the artist is, i would date this to circa 1800 making it over 200 years old, it is a beautiful Oval Brooch and the portrait miniature is so finely painted, the detailing is breath taking, she is wearing a delicate yet very pretty cream dress with a cream scarf around her neck and tucked into the neckline of her dress, this was the fashion in the Georgian period, she has a wonderful green ribbon tied into a bow around her waistband, to match her very beautiful dress she is wearing a large hat tied under her chin with black ribbon and it is finished with a matching green ribbon tied into bows, under the hat she is wearing a lace head dressing which sits delicately on her rich brown hair, this frames her absolutely very detailed beautiful face, she is so very pretty, the brooch in which it sits has a beveled glass to the front which again is a sign of quality, the border to the brooch is a wonderful rope design, it i believe is gold on copper which was a very popular material in the Georgian period, the pin has a lovely fitting to keep it secure, you pull the end where the pin tip would sit, you then place the pin into its loop and push the end back so it covers the pin tip keeping it very secure..
