Lovely Vintage Original Signed Horse Painting Estate Find 1953
This lovely Horse Painting is in good vintage estate condition. The original painting is signed with the artist's initials (BJR) and date('53) on the front. The full name of the artist(Barbara J Riles) and address are stamped on the back of the canvas. The ethereal rendering of this soulful horse is captivating. The soft, yet rich tones of the horse juxtapose seamlessly with the sublime mid century blue green background. The painting has vintage wear. There are several stains as shown all within in one confined area of the canvas, but they do not detract from the overall impact of this vintage painting. There is some normal crinkling of the bottom area of the canvas. The wood frame is nice and works effortlessly with the painting, but has come apart at one corner as shown which can be repaired. The backing as shown in the photo would need to be replaced due to its age if desired. This beautiful painting will strike a chord and be a dynamic focal point. The painting measures 12"x 16" and with the frame, 14" x 18".
