Original Vintage Provencal French Village Landscape, Oil on Canvas-Signed Mendez

Beautiful vintage framed oil on canvas of a Provence village on a hillside. Circa mid 20th Century (1950's to 60's). Probably the medieval village of Gourdon, considered one of the most beautiful location and historic villages in Provence. It has long been a favorite subject of artists. Soft earthy colors and light effects.

These photos do not do this painting justice. Much deeper earthy colors in person.

Nicely executed mid century modern impressionist painting in a lovely arts and crafts style hand carved frame. The colors are deeply vivid, the indie photos just do not do it justice. The first outdoor pic is closest to true colors. Frame has some damage, specifically to the inner canvas lining, as shown in photos. It can be removed and replaced easily however.
