Signed Vintage American Winter Farm Landscape Oil Painting Antique Gesso Frame

For your consideration is this vintage winter farm scene oil painting. It comes to you in a fancy antique wood and gesso frame that measures just under 27x31" overall while the actual image measures 16x20".

It is painted on artist or academy board and is signed by the artist, lower left. This is a nicely executed painting, likely dating to maybe the 1930's or 40's I would guess. It is signed but I can't make out the signature. The frame is your typical fancy Victorian gesso model that has been painted a shade of white at some point.

While this is a basement find and does show some overall wear and soiling, the painting itself is fine. The frame however does have areas of chipping to the gesso, mostly confined to the corners and the right side half-round molding. Each of the last 5 photos show a different area of wear or loss. That being said, it could be fairly easily touched up and the overall presentation is still quite good. Please study the photos and ask any questions you may have.
