Vintage 1961 Original Oil Pastel Portrait Painting African American Boy Signed
Handsome mid century (1961) original oil pastel painting. Depicts a Realist portrait of a young African American boy. Very well done with great attention to detail and impeccable capture of light and emotion showing the boy with a look of curiousity or wonder on his face and a gleam of light in his eye. Signed in the bottom right hand corner but hard to discern; dated January, 1961. Medium is oil pastels on paper done in a Realist style; worthy of further research.
Protected behind glass, matted and framed in a soft yellow painted wood frame, backed with brown paper and ready to hang. Clean, bright and vibrant and free of damage or wear. Pastel loss to glass is very minimal. Please note the white lines seen across the glass in the photos is simply glare from the light captured by the camera and is not on the actual image. Frame shows gentle wear and soiling as well as a small chip to the top right corner.
