Vintage Virginia Lynn La Jolla California Seascape Ocean Oil Painting Cambria

Kanakajon's Mission: "Spread the Aloha". This beautiful original oil painting depicts a scene of small ocean waves crashing on the rocks near La Jolla, California.

This vintage plein aire seascape on canvas (circa 1940s), signed by the well known seascape artist Virginia Lynn (3/11/1917 - 4/22/2005) when she resided in Burbank, California (Los Angeles), includes the hand-written caption on the reverse that reads Near La Jolla by Virginia Lynn. Virginia had that ability to bring to life with her brush, the magnificence of the Pacific Ocean.

Virginia's unique artistic technique in the application of her medium produces an amazing 3D-like effect, which is stunning to behold and renders her creations almost life-like. The effect on the viewer can be mesmerizing. Unfortunately, photographs do not do justice to the actual art. Virginia moved to the seaside town of Cambria, California located approx.

6 miles south of Hearst Castle in 1968, where she opened the Art Tower Gallery and became a prominent member of the Cambria artist's community. For many years, her works were commonly found in the fine art galleries of San Francisco. Today, it is rare to find her art work available for sale.

This painting is in great condition (see photos), but would benefit from a professional cleaning. It measures 20 3/4 inches tall by 28 1/2 inches wide (including the frame). Note: The photograph of the artist was taken in November 1949. Make me a crazy offer.
