It could be a'74 or a'76 as well. But from what I have read he stopped painting black velvets in the early 70's and switched to canvas. It is in overall very good used vintage condition. I have never seen another one like it. A Polynesian couple in the moonlight looking at a waterfall.

Original owner told us that it was bought to hang in their family restaurant. The bottom is signed Sands of Maui 1970. This is a really amazingly done black velvet painting.

The painting itself is in very nice shape. Perhaps a touch of age wear? I'm unsure of what kind of paint he used, I guessed acrylic.

The frame has a few nicks in it from being moved and the gold is rubbing off on the top edge. Red paint is coming through the gold that I pictured in one spot on the edge top and another spot on the front top corner. Back has original paper cover which has a few holes and rips. And the bottom has the frame shops sticker on it. Please see pictures and feel free to ask me any questions if I have left anything out.
