This listing is for a vintage painting depicting the Emperor Wu Of Jin. This Signed Portrait Original Oil Painting is done By an artist who signed only as Pascoll. I have not been able to find much of anything out about them. The design is excellent for many rooms and a large variety of decor styles.
It makes this an excellent staple piece for your collection, one your friends definitely won't have! A great collectors item, for display gifting or decor. The history of this ruler, according to internet sources, is as follows: Emperor Wu of Jin- personal name Sima Yan- was a grandson of Sima Yi, nephew of Sima Shi and son of Sima Zhao. He became the first emperor of the Jin dynasty after forcing Cao Huan, last emperor of the state of Cao Wei, to abdicate to him. He reigned from 266 to 290, and after conquering the state of Eastern Wu in 280, was the emperor of a reunified China.
Emperor Wu was also known for his extravagance and sensuality, especially after the unification of China; legends boasted of his incredible potency among ten thousand concubines. Thank you for your consideration, I appreciate your time. Comes as shown, please see photos for details and measurements.
