The sale is for a clown portrait oil painting signed, 1961 in original frame. Good condition with age related issues.
The clown's artist signature I cannot read, just the 1961. The painting has a shellac coating, probably to seal finish. There may be light streaks or patches of orange or yellow on painting itself.
There might be slight crackling in the painting. Most notable th ewhite area near the signature which isnt all that bad. Backside of area, clumps of paint on canvas. I dont think its the covering of a small tear; as found. Age coloring, shellac yellowing, crackling areas..
The frame is a semi natural wood with a white finish. Areas on the outer frame could be a white/brown wiped like texture. Frame has scuffs two on inner frame in middle.
Nicks or so at bottom inner frame. Scuff nicks on inner frame right side near inner frame bottom right corner.
Has an MCM look overall. The frame could have smaller nicks and scuffs in areas.
Backside has a rusted sawtooth hook for hanging. Has a marker of 244 on wood on backside. Canvas sticking out through backside. White paint spots, staples in wood. Backside canvas has red spots and white paint chunks near bottom more on left side.
A pencil mark on 10810. Age dust in crevices and age coloring. See all pics for they are part of description. May have other issues not mentioned but mentioned most significant.
Outer frame is 21.5" X 25.75" X 1 7/8. Inner frame is 15.25" X 19".
