About The Artist Frances Trusdell. Creator Of The 1950's Camano Art Studio. About the Artist Frances Trusdell (Frances Josephsen Trusdell) My Grandmother, came over to the US from Germany in 1914. She Lived in the East working 7 days a week for many years to pay to bring the rest of our family over from Germany.

Later fast foreword to the 1950's Frances fell in Love with Washington and moved to Camp Lagoon on Camano Island where her Son had discovered and bought a Farm on the Island. Northern Washingtons States Beauty, Landscapes and Weather is close to our family's Norway & German Heritage. There in part of her beautiful home on Camano Island over looking the Puget Sound, she had a small Art Studio she named "The Camano Art Center & Gallery" where she created her art, painted and began Teaching. Her Passion and incredible Talent was painting Mountains Landscapes & Seascapes but did other subjects as well.

Lived, painted and taught her Art classes, with students driving for hours in from all over the state and beyond. I was a only child. Mom a single Mother She would put me on the train from OC California to Washington where I spent almost all my Summers growing up with my Grandma. While she was teaching her Art classes I Spent time on the Farm playing with my cousins. Gathering eggs, chasing cows, p. Or on the smooth stone driftwood shore or on a boat Fishing, It was Heaven on Earth to me and I have years of incredible memories. Grandma gave me my my Positive Attitude. She was a Amazing Joy filled Woman, Artist and Loving Grandmother She is with me always??
